Well--

After pursuing your German connection, Robert Braunschweig,
it appeared that my best option was to purchase from him an
AOB transmission for a locally delivered cost of $1000. My
only concern was if there was a fit or warranty issue.
Bernie Benz then turned me on to a highly regarded rebuilder
of trannies in Bend, OR, who assured me that they had every
part necessary to do a ground up rebuild (if necessary) and
that probable cost would be $500-$1000 exclusive of
shipping, and that turn around would be 48 hours with a
"better than new" unit coming back to me.

Just as I was about to go for the rebuild, several negative
reports on the tranny shop surfaced on our thread, and at
that moment, Keith Anderson rang to let me know that he had
1 new ADZ unit remaining from his consignment of 3 purchased
from Robert last spring. We worked out a deal, so I am
getting  ready to spend the weekend doing the swap--and a
host of other stuff that should be done when the car is all
apart.

It has been a learning experience. I suppose I'll either
rebuild my current tranny or simply sell it .

How are you?? Don't you think it is time for a regional
gathering of all the NE listers somewhere? Have you heard if
Greg Amy has the System2 upgrade for UFO's ready yet??
