[200q20v] black vacumn line to ac-controller routing question

need a bit of help - the black line going into the ac-controller has come
loose somewhere upstream of the multi line connection fitting going into the
controller itself.  Does that line run direct through the firewall and to
the engine or does it
have a connecting point inside the passenger compartment before proceeding
on to the controller?  My recollection is that the line runs direct, but
I've left that volume of my bentley about 4 hours away for the moment.
