If you want it to -really- last(like, the lifetime of the car), then
use an "insert" so to speak.  There was a specific size copper
plumbing piece that made a relatively perfect insert.  My father used
it to repair the old 5000 when the top connection broke.

Half the copper piece goes into the radiator, half goes into the
broken off piece(or new piece) with epoxy between it all.

Damn near bulletproof, and the epoxy/copper lend a lot of strength to
the plastic.  Only disadvantage is that it slightly restricts
waterflow, of course.  Probably not a significant amount, however.
