A/C compressor problems

I recently had my A/C compressor go out and want to replace it.  Called up =
Parts Connection and they quoted me a price of $369.  Seems reasonable---th=
e question is--Are there any problems in removing and installing a new a/c =
compressor than just unbolting and bolting back??? And then having the loca=
l folks placing the freon back into to recharge???  Also any ideas on conve=
rting to the new air conditioning fluid/gas available on cars sold today???=
????????
