Wow:  I'd only do that as a last resort like getting stuck on a mountain pass
during a blizzard where rescue would be 3 days away if I got stuck.
Talk about dangerous.  Comparable to when the alternator belt that snapped
yesterday in the rain where I stopped the defroster, wipers and the lights
(it was 5:PM) to drive around for a repair before the (now 9 volts) battery
gave out stopping us dead on the road 60 miles from home.  I'll agree that
that both are examples of unsafe driving but one seems voluntary and the
other handling a situation as it arrised.
