biggest issue with the '82-83 turbo was the lack of an
intercooler...amazing what a little cold air will do :)
biggest plus about the "low tech" Volvo turbos (used up to '95) was the $25
"upgrade" to go from 162 hp to about 200.  try that on our Audis.
