r134 conversion kit

  I just did a conversion on my car, no problem except that the high
pressure fitting in the kit did not fit the high side fitting on the car.The
part is on order though I don't really need it since it is really only to
diagnose problems in the system. The low side is where you charge the system
and that matched up fine.
  My system only cools to 47 degrees in the direct sun of the South so I
need to do a bit of work and find the rest of the cooling problem. I guess I
should say that I do have the vacuum pump and guages to do the job so your
experience may not be as smooth as mine.
  If you are half way competent with tools you should be able to do the
conversion with little to no outside help. The vacuum pump is the real
stumbling block, maybe you can sweet talk a local mechanic to pull vacuum
for 30 to 40 minutes for you. Most people recommend replacing the dryer when
doing the
conversion but IMO its not needed if the system was working with R12.
