Upcoming California trip advice (sorry, no Audi content)

Wow!  Sorry, I haven't responded sooner, but the response was overwhelming.
I've taken all of your comments and suggestions into account and after much
deliberation decided to save the Pacific coast highway tour for (hopefully)
next summer at a more liesurely pace and concentrate on the 'business' side
of this trip.

It appears I will, however, have a 'free' day on Friday ;-) so maybe I can
get together with some of you Northern Californians this time around.
