Coolant draining

So, is there an "in" and "out" end of the auxiliary radiator, and would one
end be better than the other?  I remember I can see a hose to the aux. rad.
from underneath, but can't recall if I can see two.  Aren't these things
outfitted with something other than a hose and hose clamp?  I seem to
recall some sort of compression fitting???
