Rain-x type stuff

Dave,

I'd tried this before "way back when..." I used some glass cleaner to buff
the hell out of the windsheild and same to clean the wiper blades. All be
it that buffing with window cleaner may not be the same as using glass
polish, but that attempt didn't take a great deal less work than rain-x
application.

My experience had been that even when I did this (buffing), prior to my
"ground-breaking rain-x discovery," even new blades (being a parts snob,
Bosch of course) would only give me that so-sought-after damn good
visibility for all of a week before crapping out... again.

Not one to begrudge a less laborious solution, but being in Seattle, I can't
afford to take chances with my windsheild visibility!

Derek,
I might add 1) cleaning windshield, and all glass, with glass polish, and 2)
cleaning wiper blades w/rubber cleaner. IME, both Rain-x & glass polish
require extra elbow grease to ensure they're wiped completely clean -
otherwise wipers can streak the windshield.
