Derek,
The fuel pump check valve been discussed many, many times--both here
and on the main list--as a very (or even the most?) likely source of
fuel pressure loss. The newer replacement fuel pumps (slim style)
don't have a seperate, external check valve, but I'll bet you've got
the old-style pump. In that case, I believe a replacement checkvalve
is available separately. Installing a new check valve requires pump
removal, so if yours is an old, original pump--you may want to think
about replacing the whole pump, cause if it ain't broke now it soon
will be, and you'll have to do the whole miserable job a second time
(or maybe Bernie will come over and do it for you.) :-)
