10 miles at low speed? Go for it. Screw the tow.
Most likely you've only hosed the races of the bearing
itself. If the "cage" itself were spinning in the
hub, the whole wheel would get so hot you couldn't
touch it. The bearing will come out in about 8
thousand pieces, most of them unrecognizable.
