Hall Sensor? Could it be?

Group purchase was through http://208.233.99.171/bimmerparts/ . Current
price lists $263, group purchase was about $210. I ground off  my anti-
tamper cover with a dremel tool. Several hours and a real PITA. The new
distributer has a metal gear and narrow rotor.  HTH
