Preparing to purchase new distributor?

    Thanks for your response to my previous query, I appreciate it greatly.  From what I've heard, I'm gonna need to be purchasing a new distributor if the hall sensor is indeed bad.  One last thing before i progress, I have heard that the Hall sensor malfunctioning would not cause the car to consistantly not start.  can anyone verify this?  does it make sense t blame it only on the Hall sensor?
