Chris,
I am completely convinced that the steam cleaning was the cause of the
problem. I have cleaned my engine twice and have had exactly the same
problem both times. It is a pretty violent bucking as compared to MAF
sensor problems which I have also experienced.
I have not cleaned my engine for a long time due to this exact problem. I
plan to try cleaning it this spring and I am going to go to extremes to keep
the distributor dry and see if this is the source of the problem.
I don't think you will have any more trouble with the bucking since it
usually took several days of driving and then the problem would disappear as
mysteriously as it appeared.

Jeff,
Yes I did steam clean the engine on Thursday. It was a little rough on
Friday with similar symptoms, but I also drove 400 miles this weekend and
didn't experience anything Saturday on the first leg of the trip.
So I thought all the moisture would've gotten out of the system.
Today the problem was completely gone, 1.8 bar, no hesitation, which
leads me to definitely think the problem is electrical of some sort. All
the hoses, including that Michelin man are fine. If it remains fine I'll
assume it was moisture.
I'm going to get rid of that K&N ASAP also, and check all the MAF
electrical connections today.
Thanks for all your help!
Chris
