Repairing/Rebuilding Rear Calipers?

Audi specifies a lithium grease  G 052 150 AZ  for the caliper.  It looks
like a very heavy petroleum jelly.  The caliper from my 200q20v that I
stripped after replacing with a new one because it wouldn't retract the
piston despite the E-brake lever moving freely had the chamber below the
threaded rod packed solid with this stuff.  It was in excellent shape.  I
think my caliper didn't work because of corrosion on the piston.

The caliper from my '86 5ktq parts car that had had its E-brake cables cut
off had a bunch of rust and no sign of grease of any type in the chamber
below the threaded rod.  Its E-brake lever wouldn't move even with the
threaded rod out until I Kroiled it for a day and then used a small hammer
to tap it back and forth several times.
