And just what would you order a "custom-valver" to do with the "shock dyno"
info that you have paid dearly for?

You can not sucessfully tune the rebound damping of a shock independent of
the spring/mass/friction of the suspension system, in part because
mechanical friction adds to the shock's damping.  Sounds like the rapid
wallet lightening will quickly heighten the sensitivity of the seat of the
pants dyno, thus justifying the grin.
