Adam,
IMHO it is not wise to reduce the cooling capacity of the engine as it
was
designed. Therefore, I would fork out the money for the proper radiator.

For $450 though, you are getting to the point where you can have a
custom-made
aluminum radiator (if you can use a stock size core). That would be more
durable
in the long run compared to the plastic OEM radiator.

Just something to think about.
