it just might actually _not_ be a transplant. There are even
_dealers_ who seem not to quite grasp the "meaning" of a '91 200q.
For example, a couple of years ago there was a local dealer--a long
time specialist in Audi (used) cars--who advertised a stock '91
2CQ20V as "1991 200 S4 quattro".
The rarity of the '91 200q is something we take for granted, but it
truly is very seldom encountered, and sometimes this causes people
who you'd *expect* to be knowledgable about the Audi line to just
never get their facts straight about the '91 200q.
Either it's that, or possibly that they feel it's necessary to
promote the car to the general public in terms they might more easily
grasp. Although the S4 model is not much less of a rarity (than our
'91 200q20v), at least the S4 is known by its badge, a very
distinctive name and a total redesign; whereas our '91 200 models,
well...how could it be expected deliver any significant advance in
performance/technology? ;-)
