There is one screw in the lower front corner.  The back edge of the
panel is held in place by the weatherstripping, so it pops off...and
then pull the panel.

Note the orientation of hoses etc; it can be tricky to reinstall.
Check the water trap for water/dirt/whatever.  Remove all
bolts+washers(I can't remember if there are 2 or 4, sorry), pull ECU
out.  Disconnect hose. For the harness connector, the metal tab needs
to be released while pulling on the connector(it hinges.)
Substantial effort may be needed.

Avoid walking around on shag rug carpets and then touching the ECU
pins :-)  If shipping, put in a freezer ziplock bag and then foam(or
similar.)  Insure for $1000 or so(might be more, I can't remember;
you're basically just insuring for cost-to-replace.)

The only real precaution is that you should not pull the ECU
immediately after shutting off the engine; give at least 30 seconds.
I don't know anyone that can remove the ECU that fast anyway :-)

Note that mileage will be, short term after reinstall, a little worse
than usual...idle might also be a little uneven/rough too, especially
if you have leaks or a gummed up ISV.
