Radiator Fan Fusible Link

Talk about luck- I was headed on the way to the dealership when the
fusible link
broke. This piece of metal corroded on me and nearly left me stranded.
Fortunately,
I was able to shut the car down while stopped in traffic and had the
heat blasting
on max to try and keep the engine cool.

Now I see why people keep spares in the car. One thing I'd suggest,
though- also make
sure you have a decent #2 Philips screwdriver that can fit in small
spaces, spare
machine screws, vise grips and/or small socket in case the head strips.
I might try and
find a stainless replacement as I don't want to go through this again
(the screws that is).

I'll drop off a box of doughnuts for the guys at the dealership
tomorrow, they were a life-
saver when all I had on me was a cheap screwdriver and one screw's head
stripped out.

I plan on changine mine annually from now on- it's cheap insurance and
they don't cost
much at all.
