Sorry to say, that the rule books for the local chapter includes both A4's,
the S4, and the 185 hp TT in the same class as the 4k's and 5k's.  This is
stock D class for these folks (Western Washington Sport Car Council).  The
only other place an Audi is classified is the 225hp TT in Stock A.  Maybe
this is only because somebody hasn't said WTF yet, or maybe when you go to
sign up for a class they don't actually go by the classifications listed in
this book.

As far as this goes, I think OUR t44 has a "chance" of keeping up with the
A4's because of the added power, but there is no denying the A4 is going to
be a lot more nimble than the t44.  Chassis, tuning, overall length etc.  On
another tack, wheelbases are within 3", the track is virtually the same,
only reversed, overall width w/in 3", and height w/in an inch.  All things
told, all of the dimensions seem pretty close excepting overall length.
However, if I was driving a 100 or 10v I'd be a little miffed.  I do agree
it's a lost cause however vs the S4tt.

There was somebody running a 2.8 A4 w/sport package and racing tires coming
in at around 42-43 seconds, and another person in an S4tt with racing tires
and tiptronic coming in between 42-44.  You can probably guess which driver
my money's with.

To go back to square one though, I was thinking that the classification was
kind of hoakey, and that's why I asked what other peoples experience was.
Maybe down the road I'll be able to report back with info that justifies the
classification.  Time will tell...
