The Guide pins Peter refers to are a frequent problem (not because they are
inherently faulty, but because they are often skipped over at brake
inspection/pad replacement time).  At the dealership, relubing the guide
pins was standard procedure (though not sure if that's the case today).
Peter's procedure is right on the money.

After servicing the calipers it's a good time to flush the brake fluid as
well :-).
