OK.  So if I was careful to make sure that the long barb went into the
same hose that used to have the long hose, it should be OK right?

I wish I had kept my dead F part and snapped a picture of both and the
hoses.

I'm changing temp sensor and MFTS tonight.  Next step will be a suffix F
WGFV.  Final step, new distributor.  If none of those work, I'm driving
it straight to the local Subaru dealer.  Yeah, you THINK I'm kidding.
