To clarify, he was getting 20 PSI normally, with sharp cutbacks to 7psi.
Via the gauge I've borrowed from Dan, my long-standing suspicions
have been confirmed; I'm not getting full boost myself...but the
behavior is different.
1st gear gets me about 5psi or so, maybe a little more(too much
happening in 1st full throttle to pay too much attention :-); 2nd
gets a little more, I think 10 but I can't remember.
3rd, 4th and 5th get anything from 15 to about maybe 18psi.
Same ECU swapped into Dan's car hit 20, but bounced back to 7.
Glen, in a post to the archives, says he's seen 24(!) psi under heavy
load, 21 in normal conditions.
My current suspect is the control line for the bypass valve; this
weekend will be replace-the-vacuum-lines-weekend, since I also have a
leak at the exit side of the moisture trap...which may or may not be
contributing to the 10psi vacuum reading...same vacuum at idle,
coasting w/foot off gas, etc.
