Don,
I didn't see a reply to your question so I'll give it a try. I just
went thru the same issue. After changing out both pressure sending
units I still got the occasional beep beep beep. You need to pull the
dash and follow the instructions at SMJ's site for fixing broken solder
joints and cleaning connectors. This procedure eliminated the problem
on my car. I think it was just a dirty connector to the
display/controller. It only takes about 3 hours for the first time but
you need a soldering iron and basic soldering skills.
If you have any problems, e-mail back direct to me and you can give me a
call.
Pete
The oil pressure warning indicator used to come on just
every once and awhile which used to really freak me out.
The oil pressure guage always indicated oil pressure and
oil level was always ok.
Now it comes and goes all the time. When I start the car I
get the OK symbol, but after a couple of minutes I get three beeps with
the dripping oil can symbol. After a minute or so it goes away. OIl
pressure guage always showing excellent oil pressure. Sometimes I can go
for days without the warning. Is this an oil pressure sending unit
malfunction--the one by the oil filter? Should I be more concerned? Car
continues to run perfectly and this has been going on for a couple of
weeks.
