It is difficult with short accelerations to
watch the boost gauge without running into over-rew.
But yesterday I had a 300 km trip at highways, so I could get the time to watch gauges;
rods were crowdy.
First: I use Garrett T04/50 and IA V chips.
The Garret is far more slow to spool than
the small kkk24 bur at 1.2 Bar abs it gives more power than the small at 2.4.
I noticed max. at 2.8, I supposed close to 5.000 rpm (yea - we have speed limits too)
but I need to mount my video camera at the backseat to do a better documentation.
I think I had a small flutter at max but on the other hand my boost-graph from 4-wheel roller stands show no ripple.
But when I only press the accelerator to 1.8 Bar and keep the foot calm,
I had big and slow fluctuations alternating down to 1.3 and up again in a way, that you feel it in your pants.
After some seconds it stabilizes near the low value when the car had reached the speed.
I remember this behavior last year too after initial mount of the turbo and chips.
(Boost chip is now exchanged due to de-encryption error?)
So the big 10 psi flutter I mentioned last time was not due to wormgears.
I should have fat running too if so much air passed out.
I have not noticed this behavior with k24
and spring load upon G-T04.
Conclusion: By overtaking just floor it !
