distributor removal?

Hi,

I was going to remove the distributor in my car to upgrade it to the metal =
gear type and am trying to figure out the easiest way to do so.  The manual=
 says to remove the intake manifold...seems like there has to be a differen=
t/better way.

The tamper-resistant plate has been removed and I can see the bolt that is =
responsible for holding down the clamp.  Do I need a special tool?  Is it p=
ossible to fabricate something?  What size is this bolt (13mm?)?
