Alternator wiring

Might as well add my 2cents..

I had an alternator on a 5KTQ that did that. I replaced the brushes to
no avail. After messing with a couple of days, I broke down and put in a
rebuild bosch unit. All worked fine after that. If had more sense (and
time), I would have had it serviced by an alternator shop. I think one
of the diodes had gone. This could be your problem also. It does require
the alternator to be removed. I'd just take it your Bosch repair shop
for bench testing and refurb...
