All type 44s equipped with heated seats have all four main seating
positions heated, something you'll note no current Audi model has, I
think :-) The rear seats turn on automatically when someone is
sitting in that seat and the passenger heating control is on(pretty
spiffy, eh?); I believe that, however, it is only thermostatically
based off the front seat, so if you've got a real hot ticket sitting
in the front seat, the back seat folks are gonna freeze :-)

If you listen very carefully, you can hear the loud click/clunk
from the microswitch+lever assembly if you put your weight on the
center part of either side of the rear bench, towards the back
2/3rds. If you're really curious, pull the back seat bench(two
screws, front tips up, disconnect the three plugs, then lift up+out)
and have a look for yourself; there's a long black lever with what
looks like duct tape(how cool is that, our cars came with duct tape
:-) While you're at it, make sure the battery + cover guard is in
place and the battery looks OK.

I think, but I'm not positive, that only the bench is heated...a peek
in the Bentley wiring diagram would probably show for sure.

PS:ssssh, don't tell the main q-list, I'm gonna quiz 'em on the part
about duct tape and see how many get it right :-)
