Doesn't matter how long it "might" run making that noise. You don't want
to find out when it stops. Might be while you're driving, might be when
you go to take off from some place when you only have 15 minutes to get
somewhere else, etc. I'd peek inside the tank to determine what you need
to order (If you get the newer, smaller diameter pump, you need a different
fuel line and an intermediate basket for it to sit in inside the original
mounting basket), and get the parts coming. Took me more than a month to
locate, obtain all the correct parts.
