Intermittent Trunk Lock (aka 'Boot' for UK listers) Operation in Sedan

That's cool...I thought that the alarm system worked off of the trunk light
switch.  What's the purpose of the sensor then on the trunk lock switch?  To
determine if the switch is being rotated in the even of a break in?
