Next thing to do is check the screw that holds the shifter linkage down on
top of the tranny (you can get to it from under the hood) and make sure
that it hasn't come loose - if so retiten and apply locktite. If I had
done that I would've avoided losing 1,3,5 gears about 50 miles away from
home.
