Low Boost?

Brett,
Ya, at first forgot about the coolant temp sensor, and knew there were two
ambient sensors for the climate display, but didn't realize there was no
ambient air info going to the ecu. I guess ambient temp. could be inferred
knowing boost pressure (which would be independent of altitude, but hey
there's a sensor for that anyhow) and intake air temp.
Still trying to think of a reason you'd need ambient temp empirically; I
guess if there is not a sensor for the data, then there likely isn't a
reason to make the direct measurement. But now I digress into a reinvention
of the wheel...
But how about the other half of the question concerning failure frequencies?
