Shock recommendations?

DISCLAIMER...YMMV..:-) I had a set of Koni sports w/Eibach's on my 94 S4,
and after a year (about 20 k miles) they lost a lot of their compression
damping. So much so, I didn't like the handling of the car. I changed to
Bils. The Koni's do have adjustable rebound damping, and I know of one
lister who after the third adjustment, said they seemed to stabilize. But,
you need to remove the shocks to adjust them. I think the Bils are a bit
harsh on initial compression (more than Konis), but can't say they have
gotten any worse.
