Dave, maybe you don't know a whole lot about diesel engines and I'm on
expert but, maybe of more import is the BMEP, the average piston velocity,
and the continuous HP per cube than is the RPM.  Further, diesel fuel is
nortorious for its poor lubricity, making mechanical injection pumps a
design nightmare.
