-low hydraulic system pressure(at the brake booster). Caused by
clogs, pump failure or belt slippage, leaks, or accumulator
failure(the pump cannot meet instantaneous pressure demands of the
brake booster).

-low fluid level at the hydraulic reservoir or brake fluid reservoir

-short in the ebrake switch circuit or switch itself

Look for leaks, low fluid levels, loose belt, or dying
accumulator(should get at least two dozen brake pedal presses before
it goes hard.)  Pump failures are slightly more unusual.
