I recently started this dance with Didi at Carlsen in Palo Alto (800
523.2408). She wants $541 for the front muffler, $581 for the rear,
and another $100 for miscellaneous hangers, nuts, bolts, etc. The cats
are outasite at around $880 each, so I contacted Marvins Cats in the
East Bay (millercat.com  800 826.6615). They do not stock, but will
rebuild exact duplicates for $250 each with one day turnaround. Bottom
line looks like $1,722. This results in a new OEM system, and while I
understand that it can be done for less aftermarket, I prefer the
quietness and OEM qualities of this approach.
