First off Grant, please don't include the entire text of a digest
when sending to the list...they're VERY big :-)
Okay...this sounds like you've got a mixture problem and the car's
running rich. This could be an intake system(boost) leak, for
example. Does it mostly happen after hard driving?
I used to get this smell all the time driving behind some people's
s-cars...only when they were on the boost.
Drive the car gently until it is fixed- rich running can cause damage
to the catalytic converters, and they're not cheap.
