Keith,

What condition were your intake valve guide seals in?
I've never heard that these should be replaced at any
particular mileage, so I'm just curious about yours
after 215K.

Reason for the head rebuild was lots of smoke after
extended idling or after several very short starting
and shutdowns (moving it around the shop), but no
smoke during engine braking.  ... Guides, milling,
valve job, and remove 4 broken studs ...
