Ebay? No thanks (LAC)

Recently I've had to put a few things up for sale, and I've refused
to do so on ebay.  Here's a good reason why.

The second half of the story pretty conclusively proves Ebay is
protecting sellers(they punished people who warned bidders in
fraudulent auctions, but ignored clear evidence of fraud.)

Most of us are familiar with Robert Hack(aka RobracerX) who not only
has a strong reputation for ripping people off(enter the "Nitrous kit
for S8 as seen in Ronin!", for example), but actually threatened Dan
and I(separately) with legal action(in my case, it was because of
comments I made about the guy.  Dan told him to basically go #$@!
himself, it was clear he was ripping people off, etc.)  I know a lot
of listers worked hard to get Hack's auctions shut down with little
or no success.  They're not alone- as the second half of the article
shows, stamp collectors went after some obvious fraud(that even
involved counterfeit operations) and eBay did zip.

In the Macintosh community, there was a MA resident who repeatedly
auctioned off Powerbooks and other equipment, claiming they'd be
ordered and delivered within a few weeks.  Guess what?  Nothing ever
showed, and she kept at it for weeks.  Took the MA state AG to shut
her down...
