front sway bar R&R - any tricks?

When I replaced all four front sway bar bushings I had the same
re-fitting problem. With the front end of both sides of the car equally
off the ground and on jack stands the following was accomplished:

I discovered that if I attached the sway bar ends at each of the front
lower control arms (threaded ends near the wheels), I could then lift
the "middle" of the bar w/bushings affixed. The alignment of the "front
bushing clamps"was sufficiently flexible for me to hand start the bolts
into their holes. As I recall a small pry bar may have been necessary,
but it was definately a one-man job.
