never ignore idiot lights

Despite one refusal, I am still an AAA member. 20 minutes late
when I'm stuck on the side of the highway is better than hoofing it.

The refusal was when I rolled the Avant. There was no damage to
anyone or anything else but me and my car. They towed it, but
refused to cover it since there was no police report. What should
I do, call them on myself? Not going to happen. I feel I was royally
stiffed by AAA. I paid the $120 and I'm still a Plus member. Believe
me, with the trip I just completed last night, I was glad to know that I
could make a call and be towed 100 miles without hassle.

As for the trip, I returned to CO last night from SC with an '85 urq.
Wasn't running two weeks ago. Had sat long enough for rust to form
on the cylinder walls. Made the 1500 mile trip home flawlessly.

Speaking of my recent trip and AAA... somewhere in western KS an
A3 Jetta GLI from CT passed me doing a good 80 or 90. (Too bad my
driver's side hood latch was nf else I'd given chase). Anyway, I passed
said GLI in CO about 9 miles short of Limon, parked, hood up, flashers
on.
I hope he only ran out of gas. I looked for him as I continued, but did
not see him. Oh well. I've BTDT in NE in my '83 GTI in '84, except is
was 10pm on a Sunday night. Yea! Was hedging on that gas gauge
a bit too much and lost.
