I don't know what the -2 means, but I ran through 2
consecutive sets of Comp TA VR4s until they stopped
making them a few years ago after Michelin bought BFG.
They're very inexpensive, perform fine and last
forever, but have one drawback if you run UFOs. They
go out of balance frequently (~ every 5K miles) so in
addition to needing rebalancing often, the imbalance
warps the UFOs, and that's becomes an expensive flaw!
It's apparently due to the manufacturing process for
the tires. I forget what it's called vs. the more
expensive process that Michelin uses (one uses
"clamshell" dies and I forget the other's name).
Anyway, BFG used the less expensive process to make
less expensive tires but with more density variations
throughout the tire that change its balance with wear.
Or so I heard after discussing with a tire shop in the
east bay area that supplies a lot of racers, and a
phone call to Michelin when I couldn't fine VRs a few
years ago. Now I run Pilot Sports and haven't had a
balance problem yet after ~ 1 year.
Also, FWIW, HRs are technically illegal to use on the
200q20v; VRs are the minimum speed rating for its
tires.
