To repeat: " _only_ when coasting off-throttle with the clutch out"
In other words, the car must be moving.

There is _no_ noise as soon as the clutch is depressed or if the car
is stationary (idling) irrespective of the clutch  being in or out.

Throwout bearing was replaced within past 2 yrs or so (but before
noise started).
