Well, I've removed both rack hoses. Why mess around with doing just one?
The other looks so simple (cheap?), so I thought I should just take that
off at the same time. I got the resevoir off the mount (keeping hoses
attached), then removed the mount. By moving a brake line towards the
front of the car an inch or two, I could get my hand down there pretty
comfortably. I was able to use a full length 19mm combo wrench (S&K) to
get the supply hose cracked. I was kneeling on the intake manifold with
one knee to get enough leverage on that sucker. I did the old "double
the wrenches" trick to extend the length. Anyone else ever do this? You
put the closed end on the bolt, use another combo wrench and put the
closed end on one hook of the open end of the first wrench. Worked great!
I was able to squeeze a 19mm socket/rachet on the return hose bolt. That
was tough to crack! I had a 19mm wrench slipped over the end of the
rachet handle to extend that. Are these things so tough to crack because
they have been on so long? I imagine that is much worse than the
tightening torque, right?
Tomorrow, I'll make calls and see if I can bring the hoses someplace for
the rebuild. If that doesn't work out, I have Didi checking aftermarket
prices on the pump-rack hose... Rod admitted that was the better way to
go. He had the OE hose for $158. Didi had the OE hose for $141.

More to come....
