200 tq brake upgrades

Hello all-

My 4th audi (if you count the 86 syncro wagon) is a sweet 200 tq avant.
The brake discussion interests me, as the car does not stop the way I would
like it to.

Being a medical student (ie. I blew my entire years living expenses on this
machine), what options for upgrade do I have?

The car has (I'm told) been upgraded to early s4 brakes.

Should I put a used set of late model A4 calipers on this? If so, which
rotors will I want to use?

PS: I've got an overmaintained low milage(125K) 89 10v avant for the asking
with lots of upgrades (chip, coil overs, koni's, steering rack, radiator,
intercooler, brakes).
