You described the Bosch one exactly.  The KAE works by: on to
intermittent, to set the interval you briefly pull the stalk towards you
to set first swipe, then repeat to set the delay.

The only way I've heard of them working is on to intermittent, off
again.  Then intermittent again after the delay you want, and leave
it there.

How is the KAE one different?
