I'm cringing just reading this. Sounds like you are rounding off the
head of a bolt in a very difficult location. You might consider taking
it in to a shop before you get into big trouble.

I went through this last fall. It is a huge pain! I was able to get a
socket on it, then attach the drive. I also remember using a combination
wrench. I think it was the combi wrench that let me break it loose.
