CV Joints?

I've done the outer joint and it can be a pain. I have always lubed the
balls as I put them in (Mr. Moly). I get two opposite balls in, put the
inner part, cage and 2 balls in place in the outer part. Rotate the
inner and cage (with balls as a pivot). realize that the cage will
rotate about half what the inner part rotates when the balls are in
place. If you try to keep the cage with the inner part, it won't work. I
tend to put one ball in at a time until the rest are in. I think order
doesn't matter.
From my experience with the VW/Audi CVs, wear only makes them looser. A
new joint will be able to through the full range of motion. It may seem
stiff, but it will go. A worn joint will slip around a lot easier. I
have a worn VW inner that I keep around to play with and it is quite
sloppy (even dry).
Good luck. Like they Mike said, take a break if you need to. This car
stuff can be frustrating, but taking your time is your best bet.
